1. 只買入即使市場下跌長達10年你仍然很樂意持有的標的物。Only buy something that you'd be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years.

2. 民意調查(公眾意見)不能取代思考。A public-opinion poll is no substitute for thought.

3. 如果依循過去的投資歷史就可以掌握投資的遊戲規則，那麼這個世界上最有錢的人就會是--圖書管理員。==>意思是，過去的績效不是未來績效的保證。If past history was all there was to the game, the richest people would be librarians.

4. 我不會想要去跳過7英呎的橫桿，我會環顧四周找一個可以一步就跨過去的1英呎橫桿。I don't look to jump over 7-foot bars: I look around for 1-foot bars that I can step over.

5. 我們最喜歡的持有期間是永遠。Our favorite holding period is forever.(譯註：當然巴菲特也有看錯的時候，此時便會減持或是完全賣出)

6. 風險來自於你不知道自己在做什麼。Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing.

7. 只有當潮水退去，你才會發現是誰正在裸泳。Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked.

8. 花20年建立起來的聲譽，只要5分鐘就可以毀掉它。如果你想一下這件事，那麼你做事的方法將會有所不同。It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.
